Miacole Nelson 6th Ward

“There’s no greater display of commitment to public service, than to stand-up for the people who built our nation…”

Miacole Nelson, is a proud, 25-year resident of Calumet City, mother, community activist and an unwavering advocate for working men and women.

She honed her skills and commitment to public service as a 27-year employee with the Clerk of the Circuit Courts Office of Cook County – working with civil suits, domestic relations, orders of protection, misdemeanor and felony criminal proceedings and more.

Mia’s passion for lifelong learning and public education led her to winning a seat on the TF High School Board, where she championed the cause of expanding technical education opportunities and Career Pathway Development for students.

For Mia, there can be no greater demonstration of commitment to public service, than to standup for the people who built our nation.

She’s been a strong advocate for working men and women – serving as a Union Steward and Trustee for Teamsters Local 700 – a 10,000-member public sector labor organization.

And, while on the District 215 School Board, she brought Administrators and teachers together – successfully negotiating a contract and avoiding a possible strike in the District.

Miacole Nelson’s commitment to public service and her solid record of fighting and winning for working men and women make her the obvious choice for Alderman.
